Graduation Requirements

Two high school diplomas are given at Vandalia Christian School: Baccalaureate or Honors Preparatory. Units begin to accumulate with the 9th grade. One unit is equal to two semesters’ work. Beginning with the 9th grade, each semesters’ work must be passed in order to receive credit; no yearly grades are given.

Honors Level Courses

The following courses are regarded as Honors Level Courses: Physics, Forensics, Chemistry, Anatomy, Pre-calculus, Statistics, Spanish III and Advanced Computer.

Additionally, Vandalia Christian School offers AP Biology, AP English and AP Statistics.

Preparing for College

Our goal is to provide our students with the education and training necessary to be accepted into and to excel in higher education if the Lord is leading them in that direction. Our College Prep information provides planning timelines, links, and answers to common college planning questions.
Cap and Diploma
We offer graduating seniors the opportunity to visit colleges of their choice during their Senior year and college counseling is available through the principal’s office.

Standardized Testing

Each year Vandalia Christian School administers the Stanford Achievement test in K-5 through the 12th grade. Our school average for this year was in the 79th percentile. The Otis-Lennon School Ability Test is given at intervals in the elementary and junior high levels. We also require all 11th graders to take the PSAT and students in the 11th and 12th grades are encouraged to take the SAT and ACT tests.

The national average on the Stanford Achievement Test is at the 50th percentile. Over the last 16 years, Vandalia Christian School has scored an average of 29 percentile points above the national average.
