7th Grade Bible

Learning from the Life of Christ develops the foundational truth of new birth. This course focuses on the two main concepts of the life changing experience of the new birth and the development of Christ-like character.

8th Grade Bible

The doctrines of the Bible are of utmost importance to any believer. This course closely examines many Bible doctrines and provides a solid practical application approach for these doctrines to impact the student.

9th Grade Bible

Provides a chronological but practical study of the historical development of the New Testament era including a major emphasis on the Life of Christ.

10th Grade Bible

This course provides an in depth but practical approach to the Book of Proverbs. Spiritual growth is initiated with this study through the wise approach to life that Solomon had attained through God’s power.

11th Grade Bible

This class is intended to cover Paul’s Prison and Pastoral Epistles, Hebrews, General Epistles, and the book of Revelation. Practical application to the believer is provided during this study

12th Grade Bible

This course takes a good look at the various categories of Apologetics. It also examines the Biblical foundation for all apologetics and develops a plan for dealing with various cults that a Christian may encounter.

7th Grade – NC History

Old Map and Compass
A study of North Carolina allows us to see God’s hand in the birth of a state that was established upon the principles of the Bible. Without the true perspective of God’s ordained authority, we fail as a republic to thrive.

8th Grade – World Geography

This class combines the varied elements of geography with strong Biblical philosophy.

9th Grade – World History

This course is designed to give students an overall view of the history of civilization. It takes students through the rise and fall of civilizations from creation to the present time. In this one sees how god directs in the affairs of men.

10th Grade – US History

The focus of this course is to see God’s hand in the birth of a nation that was established upon the principles of scripture. The influence that the Bible has had on our land and culture are closely examined.

12th Grade – Government/Economics

This is a basic study of government and how the Creator has ordained it as a means of accomplishing His will on earth. This course is also designed to examine the Biblical principles behind the financial choices that we make. In addition, the Lord expects us to put possessions in their proper prospective.

7th Grade – Pre-Algebra

This course serves as an introduction into various algebraic concepts including real numbers, polynomials, relations and functions, etc.

8th Grade – Algebra 1A

As one of the oldest branches of math, it allows the student to state and understand the relationships among the laws of God’s creation. Various algebraic concepts including real numbers, polynomials, relations and functions, etc. are reinforced.

9th Grade – Algebra 1B

This course is a continuation of the Algebra curriculum taught in 8th grade with the addition of training and preparation for Algebra 2.

10th Grade – Algebra 2

This course continues the study of advanced algebraic concepts. The powerful hand of God is emphasized in the area of universe design and care.

11th Grade – Geometry

The study of geometric concepts is reinforced from the previous algebra courses. Two and Three dimensional reasoning skills will be emphasized. Geometry will assist in better understanding God’s orderly physical universe.

12th Grade – Statistics

The purpose of the AP course in statistics is to introduce students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing and drawing conclusions from data.

12th Grade – Discrete Math

This course is a review of all math concepts taught from previous years of education. There is an emphasis on the higher learning concepts related to the usage of math knowledge instructed in the past. Even though there is a quality level of challenge involved, the course is not designed to be as rigorous as the other upper level mathematics courses.

12th Grade – Pre-Calculus

Prepares students for the calculus sequence. Real-valued functions, including algebraic, trigonometric, exponential, and logarithmic functions. Also includes proofs, inequalities, introductory analytical geometry, series, sequences, and vectors.

7th Grade – Life Science

This course examines the wonders of biological life. It compares the complexity of life forms to the design of a Creator.

8th Grade – Earth Science

This is the study of God’s physical creation from the perspective of the founders of modern science. This class is designed to look at the wonder and order of God’s universe from the motion of galaxies and its molecular makeup.

9th Grade – Physical Science

This course is designed to give the a good background into the Christian perspective of the physical creation of the earth, plants, animals, and man. The course reinforces the fact that man has dominion over the earth.

10th Grade – Biology

This course is designed to guide students into the study of living creation especially in the areas of botany, anatomy, zoology, cytology, and genetics.

10th-12th Grade – Anatomy

This course is designed to guide students in the exploration of human structure and function along with the basic mechanisms of disease. This class is designed to aid students in the medical or science field.

10th-12th Grade – Chemistry

This course is intended to enable students to obtain a better understanding of the precision and design of the physical world.

10th-12th Grade – Forensics

This course is designed to introduce the student to the process of using science and technology in order to investigate crime scenes.

10th-12th Grade – Physics

The course studies the world of forces, movement, mechanics, and energy. It also lays the foundations of electricity, magnetism, and optics, and stresses a logical problem-solving approach with many examples and diagrams. Students will put their math skills to use in a derivative approach.

Literature is focused on along with grammar in order to teach the student to read material with an inquisitive mind. The students are instructed to write with improving grammatical skills in an effort to organize and clearly express his ideas.

10th Grade English

11th Grade English

American based literature is the main focus of this course which strives to perfect reading comprehension skills and critical analysis of short stories and novels. Grammar skills are also reinforced.

12th Grade English

7th/8th Grade Reading/Vocab

Students study vocabulary words for the purpose of learning the correct definitions for each word. Students will also read two literary works (a novel and biography) and understand the elements of each.

9th-12th Grade Reading/Vocab

The course is designed to work at expanding the students vocabulary for the purpose of creating a more effective student writer.

This class is designed to show how being physically fit is important and in the same time hopefully spark an interest in several different individual and team sports. The class attempts to start a trend of physical health that students will make lifelong.

Spanish 1/2

Hable Espanol?
These language classes are designed to teach students to communicate verbally and to develop the level of grammatical accuracy on a reasonable level. Another focus is to bring students toward a point where they can freely converse Spanish on their own.

Spanish 3

This class is designed to build mastery of the grammatical, verbal and accent usage of the Spanish language. The main focus of the class is to provide students with a strong grasp of the conversational element of the language so that they may gain a practical use of Spanish in today’s society.

The course is to assist the student in developing keyboarding skills and to give the students a working knowledge of the Windows OS.

Advanced Computer

The course builds in the first course by providing a much more comprehensive knowledge of the Windows OS. Various projects in the realm or PowerPoint and multimedia are accomplished.

This class assists the students in learning basic speech techniques and developing sound philosophy regarding speakers and literature they perform.

This course challenges the believer to a Christ-honoring philosophy of music, as well as learning to sing in a choral setting.

7th-12th Grade Band

Students develop individual and group performance skills, using various styles of band literature. Emphasis is placed on proper breathing, tone quality, intonation, articulation, development of range, and music reading skills.

Intended to help increase a students love for basic art principles and to instill creativity. Students will gain an understanding of the Elements and Principles of a well-designed work of art while gaining practice and skill in technique and materials.
