*SPECIAL DELIVERY PIZZA @ LUNCHTIME EACH FRIDAY!*
On Friday, November 3, we will once again have our Catered-in PIZZA . Only $1.25 per slice! (Drinks and other a-la-carte items are extra.) Our teachers will ask their students on Thursdays, how many slices each student intends to purchase so we can get as accurate a count as possible. This will ensure both quality control and freshness.
VCS Winter Spirit Wear
We will be ordering winter spirit wear again this year through Righteous Treads Embroidery. If you are interested, please look for the order form to be sent home next week showing the design/color/size options available. We must get the order placed by the Thanksgiving Holidays, November 22, for delivery by Christmas Break. If you have questions, please call Mrs. James.
VBC BIBLE CLUB
In a continuing effort to focus on real Bible Memorization and the “Hiding of God’s WORD” in our children’s hearts, Vandalia Baptist Church and Vandalia Christian School is hosting the Vandalia Bible Club. Information about this exciting Bible Club is available at the school offices.
In a continuing attempt to update and make our school website as relevant and informative as possible, we are looking for input from our school families. If you would like to share a comment about our school that we might post to our website, please email that to me. A final draft will be given to you before it is posted.
ATTRACTIONS Book Sale
Although our Attractions Books Sale is over, we still have a few books available for purchase. See Mrs. Frazier in the Gym Building Office if you are interested. They make great Christmas presents!
Pop Top Tabs
Again this year we are collecting pop top tabs. For every “gallon” of tabs collected, a needy individual will receive medical treatment. If you have any questions concerning this worthwhile project, please see Mrs. Herriage.
VCS Hosts NCCSA Cross Country State Meet
Again this year, VCS is honored to host 12 schools and 160 runners, (a record number!), for the North Carolina Christian School Association’s State Meet. It will be held at Hagan Stone Park tomorrow, November 2, at 2:00pm.
Each Thursday morning between 7:30 and 7:50 the Senior Class sells Chick-fil-A biscuits in the gym and “C” Building cafeteria. The cost is $3.00 per biscuit. Stop by for a delicious breakfast!
A retired local school teacher has offered her services as a math tutor for our students. If you are interested in these services, please give us a call and we will be happy to give you her contact information.
VCS Business Directory
A few years ago we assembled a business directory listing VCS Family-owned businesses and services. If you would like to have your business listed in this directory, please email me the following information: Name of business, services provided, contact number, name of contact person and website if you have one. Once this is compiled I will email a copy to each of our families.
If you would like to help with our Five-For-Jesus student outreach program for students in grades 9-12, please give me a call or send me an email! Thanks!
Helping Us Help Your Children
We need BOX TOPS-For-Education! We are off to a great start with this annual drive. Every General Mills Box Top and links to Harris-Teeter helps to make a positive impact to our school. Thank you for your continued support.
With the student body of our size, it will be amazing to see the benefit from this “EASY Fundraiser” if all of us join in!
Please remember to Re-link your VIC card soon! Just mention VCS and our school code, 2227. If you have friends and family that are not already donating to other schools through the VIC card program, suggest they link their card to our school. Unfortunately the Labels for Education program has come to a close. Only UPCs with the Labels for Education logo can be accepted and redeemed for points into our school’s account. Please submit any labels you might have by December 14, before our Christmas Break. Thanks!
VCS Career Day
In the Spring of 2018, VCS will host a Career Day! This will be a fun-filled day allowing our students the opportunity to check-out several career paths, within God’s perfect plan, for their lives. If you would like to be a part of our “Career Day Committee”, please contact Dr. Amy Brian using her email address, email@example.com
Drama Department Opportunities
Thank you for all of the generous donations. We are THRILLED that our closet has much to choose from. We are blessed to have such a giving VCS family.
The Fine Arts Departments, Art, Band, Choir and Drama, have teamed up to present to you, “Christmas Under the Tree.”
Our first annual Dinner Theater and Matinee is scheduled to be held at the following times: December 7 @ 6:00pm – Dinner Theater
December 9 @ 2:00pm – Matinee – (Hot chocolate and Christmas goodies will be available for purchase) Tickets going ON SALE soon.
Summer Day Camp Needs
Although it’s really early, Mrs. Herriage is collecting “new or used” white sport/work socks for summer day camp. (They do not have to be perfect…holes are OK!) They will be used to make snowballs in one of the Summer activities. You can send them in at any time this year. Give Mrs. Herriage a call if you have any questions.
VCS Fine Arts
Attention VCS Student MUSICIANS: We want your help! If you sing or play an instrument and want to lead music in our chapel services, please see Ms. Young to fill out an application. If you have any questions, feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org We are really looking forward to training students for leadership in ministry.
Word from My Heart
As most of you are aware, last night was Halloween. Dressed up, wide-eyed, hopeful, little people came knocking on your door looking for a treat!
If you are like me, you opened the door, complimented the smiling young’uns on their costumes and placed a bit of candy in their bags. Then you nodded to the parents in the background who were offering a silent, “Thank you.” It was nothing less than nostalgic.
In a way, that is what we have in the gift of God’s grace to us. We go Him with our arms open wide asking for a blessing. We deserve nothing, but He fills our void with not only what we want but what we need.
Take a moment today to bow your heart and thank your Heavenly Father for gifts of grace that are given to you every day. Our God is so good to His Children.
