VCS PTF Christmas Bonus Program

Thank youTHANK YOU!  We, as a staff, were overwhelmed by the generosity of our parents during the Christmas season for your sacrificial giving to the PFT Teacher Bonus Program.  Because of your support we exceeded our goal and were able give the VCS Staff a much appreciated and deserved Christmas Bonus.  On behalf of the teachers, staff and PTF Board Members, please accept this heartfelt “thank you.”

VCS 2015 Calendar Bookmarks

Along with your child’s report card, sent home today, you should receive a VCS 2015 Calendar Bookmark as a gift from us wishing each of you a Happy New Year.  There are extra bookmarks available in the lobby of “C” Building.

Financial Office News/Report Cards

If your child did not receive a report card or you cannot log into HeadMaster, please check with the financial office.  Please remember that all accounts must be current to receive report cards or access HeadMaster.

Attractions Coupon Books

Just a reminder that we still have several Attractions Dining and Value Guides in the office.  The 2014 books are no longer valid, so if you have not already gotten your 2015 edition, now is the time!  Please see Mrs. Frazier if you are interested.

VCS Vikings Sports

VCS Basketball LogoBasketball season is underway! Check out the digital board in front of the gym for upcoming games.  There is also a listing of the season’s games on our website.  Contact your child’s coach if you have any questions about travel times.  Directions to “Away” games are posted on our website.

VCS Is Going NUTS!

Fresh, this year’s crop, 12 oz. packages of Raw Pecan Halves, Salted and Roasted Pecan Halves, Chocolate Covered Pecans and Roasted Salted Cashews are available at  Mrs. Frazier’s’ Office.  The cost is $6.26 per bag.

Morning Parking

Just a gentle reminder that when you drop-off your preschoolers in front of “A” building, please make sure that you park in a parking space if you desire to walk your child to the classroom.  It is very important that you do not park in the “No Parking” zone.

Prison Ministry Outreach

If you have any Bibles that you are no longer using and would like to give them to others less fortunate, consider donating them to a prison outreach ministry.  Give them to any of the school offices and we will ensure they are put in the hands of men and women in prison that are seeking.

Word from My Heart

ForgivenHappy New Year!  As you look around, most of you have noticed that the Christmas decorations have come down and have been packed away for another 8 months.  (You’ll start seeing them in the stores again in August!)  However, at my house it still looks like Christmas Eve.  The tree is up, the candles are in the windows and there are presents under the tree.  The reason being we are going to have a “2nd Christmas” once Drew, my marine, gets home from Japan the week after next!  I promised to keep the house decorated until he and his wife come over for their first Christmas together.

When I walk into the house and see the Christmas tree still shining, it reminds me that even though December 25 has passed, Christmas should be celebrated every day of the year.  The gift of God sending His Son to earth is one that we should honor year round.  Even in the midst of the cold bleakness of Winter I pray you feel the warmth of Jesus and His love for you.
