Re-enrollment time is upon us! This year, in lieu having on-campus meetings for our Current VCS Family, we will email and physically send home re-enrollment forms. We have several very exciting changes for the fall of 2015 that will be outlined in your re-enrollment packet, and we wish to make the re-enrollment process as convenient as possible. Please keep in mind that we have an Open House scheduled for March 10 from 7:00pm-8:30pm for prospective families. Pass the word on to your family and friends interested in VCS.
Digital Sign Updates
Please take note of the updates that are made daily to the digital sign in front of “B” Building. We make an effort to insure that upcoming events and schedule changes are posted each morning.
VCS Annual Candy Sale!
Information concerning the annual “World’s Finest Candy” sale was sent home last week. Please take a few moments to read that material. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Frazier.
The Science Departments of VCS will once again host our annual Science Fair on Friday, January 30 in the gym. The Science Fair will begin at 9:00am, take a break for “Break,” then resume until 11:45. Please consider coming out for this long awaited event!
If you are having any problems with these programs, please call “C” Building office for assistance.
Please take note that a memo went home last week about having your child’s name “stamped” on his/her yearbook. The final due date is February 27. Please give us a call if you have any questions.
Boxtops for Education and Campbell Soup Labels
Please keep in mind that VCS is still collecting “Box Tops for Education” and “Campbell’s” Soup labels. Just send them in with your students when you have them. Over the years we have received 10’s of thousands of dollars to put back in to the ministry. Thank you for your help!
Harris Teeter Helps VCS!
Have you linked your Harris Teeter VIC Card to the Vandalia Christian School “Together in Education” code 2227. Harris Teeter contributes a percentage of all HT brand purchases to the Vandalia Christian School TIE account when your VIC card is linked to our school. Here are two easy ways to link your VIC card: Visit your Harris Teeter store and ask your cashier to link your card to 2227. OR Visit www.HarrisTeeter.com Community, Together in Education and link your card online.
VCS Vikings Sports
Basketball season is well underway! Check out the digital board in front of the gym for upcoming games. There is also a listing of the season’s games on our website. Contact your child’s coach if you have any questions about travel times. Directions to “Away” games are posted on our website. Refer to “Dress Code” pages 12-14 in the VCS Student Guidebook.
Just a gentle reminder that when you drop-off your preschoolers in front of “A” building, please make sure that you park in a parking space if you desire to walk your child to the classroom. It is very important that you do not park in the “No Parking” zone.
Prison Ministry Outreach
If you have any Bibles that you are no longer using and would like to give them to others less fortunate, consider donating them to a prison outreach ministry. Give them to any of the school offices and we will ensure they are put in the hands of men and women in prison that are seeking.
Word from My Heart
It is not often we have “glitches” in our system, but today we had one. Today was the day that our World’s Finest Chocolate was scheduled to be delivered by 9:30am. Needless to say, that did not happen. The truck broke down in-transit and our “scheduled delivery” got moved to 1:10pm. Ahhhhhhh! However, once the truck arrived, we were blessed to have lots of high school students jump in and help get the candy distributed. While watching Mrs. Frazier and the students work so hard, I was reminded of the fact that we are a family. Seeing the need this afternoon, the kids jumped in and helped and that was such an incredible sight. That speaks highly of their upbringing and their desire to minister to those in need.
I am so blessed to work with what I think is the most amazing group of young people anywhere. God is so good. Take a moment today to reflect on the “good” that your child gives. I promise you, it will be a blessing.
