Re-enrollment time is upon us! This year, in lieu having on-campus meetings for our Current VCS Family, we will email and physically send home re-enrollment forms. We have several very exciting changes for the fall of 2015 that will be outlined in your re-enrollment packet, and we wish to make the re-enrollment process as convenient as possible. Please keep in mind that we have an Open House scheduled for March 10 from 7:00pm-8:30pm for prospective families. Pass the word on to your family and friends interested in VCS. Please remember that many of our new families come to VCS as a result of the information they receive from our current families. As a way of saying “Thank You” for presenting our school to prospective families, if your name is written on the enrollment form of a new family as the person who recommended them to the school, you will receive a $200 discount on your tuition ($100 in December and $100 in May). The only requirement is that the family remains with us for the semester in which the $100 is given. Make sure the family you are recommending know to place your name on their application before they turn it into the office.
Summer Daycare Craft Supplies
The summer daycare program is collecting coffee cans WITH lids, (plastic or metal), for a project they have planned this summer. Please consider dropping off any empty cans you might have to “C” building so they can be recycled into a fun project.
Children Around the World
For the last several years the elementary school of VCS has sponsored a “Children Around the World” festival. The event helps to teach the children to develop a love for missionaries and others around the world, encourages them to pray for the missionaries of their chosen country, correspond with a missionary family via letters, email and skype and learn about the culture, food and customs of other countries. The festival will be held on Wednesday, April 1. More information will be sent home by their teachers. But make your plans now to visit our “Global Community” in the VCS Gym on April 1!
VCS BAND Candy Grams
Candy Grams are back! Send “sweets to your sweetie” (or friends) this Valentine’s Day! The Senior High Band students are selling candy grams for $2 each to be delivered on February 13. Order forms are available from Mrs. Young in the Band Room during break for high school students and at the end of the day for elementary students. You may also have order forms emailed to you; please send your requests to email@example.com The last day to order is February 11. Thanks for your support of the VCS Band!
VCS Annual Candy Sale!
The “World’s Finest Candy” sale is off to a GREAT start! Thank you! If you have any questions or need more candy, please contact Mrs. Frazier, Mrs. Keller or Mrs. James.
Tax Credit Forms for Pre-school
Tax credit postcards for K3, K4 and Extended Care were mailed on Monday, January 26. Please contact the financial office if you have not received your postcard.
It was 24 degrees this morning at my house and here I am announcing “Spring Portraits!” Oh the irony! Please note that class and individual pictures will be taken on February 18. Class pictures need to be pre-ordered. Keep an eye out for the order forms.
Digital Sign Updates
Please take note of the updates that are made daily to the digital sign in front of “B” Building. We make an effort to insure that upcoming events and schedule changes are posted each morning.
Congratulations to our students for their fine work during this year’s Science Fair. Several of the projects will represent VCS at the NCCSA Fine Arts Competition. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Best-in-Show winners will be announced in next week’s Viking Voice and special recognition awards will be presented during the end-of-the-year Awards Chapel. Great work Einstein’s!
If you are having any problems with these programs, please call “C” Building office for assistance. Also keep in mind that although today was almost spring-like, winter is still with us. If you have not taken the time to update your contact numbers on SchoolCast, please do so. That is our primary way of contacting you in case of school closings or emergencies.
Please take note that a memo was recently sent home about having your child’s name “stamped” on this year’s VIKING yearbook. The final due date is February 27. Please give us a call if you have any questions.
Boxtops for Education and Campbell Soup Labels
Please keep in mind that VCS is still collecting “Box Tops for Education” and “Campbell’s” Soup labels. Just send them in with your students when you have them. Over the years we have received 10’s of thousands of dollars to put back in to the ministry. Thank you for your help!
Harris Teeter Helps VCS!
Have you linked your Harris Teeter VIC Card to the Vandalia Christian School “Together in Education” code 2227. Harris Teeter contributes a percentage of all HT brand purchases to the Vandalia Christian School TIE account when your VIC card is linked to our school. Here are two easy ways to link your VIC card: Visit your Harris Teeter store and ask your cashier to link your card to 2227. OR Visit www.HarrisTeeter.com Community, Together in Education and link your card online.
VCS Vikings Sports
Basketball season is well underway! Check out the digital board in front of the gym for upcoming games. There is also a listing of the season’s games on our website. Contact your child’s coach if you have any questions about travel times. Directions to “Away” games are posted on our website. Refer to “Dress Code” pages 12-14 in the VCS Student Guidebook.
Just a gentle reminder that when you drop-off your preschoolers in front of “A” building, please make sure that you park in a parking space if you desire to walk your child to the classroom. It is very important that you do not park in the “No Parking” zone.
Prison Ministry Outreach
If you have any Bibles that you are no longer using and would like to give them to others less fortunate, consider donating them to a prison outreach ministry. Give them to any of the school offices and we will ensure they are put in the hands of men and women in prison that are seeking.
Word from My Heart
Just a simple thought for you this week. “Give your best to the One that gave His all for you.”
Have a great rest of the week.
