Word from My Heart

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christ-honoring Easter this past Sunday. My family did. After church Sunday morning all of my children, minus Matthew, and their spouses or fiancés along with some dear friends and my mother were over at my house for a late Easter lunch. It was a lot of fun. However, the center of attention was my mother. She is a real hoot to begin with, but when she gets started…watch out. My children have always been very close to her and they love to ask her questions about me when I was a child. But this past Sunday they asked her questions about when she was a kid. She was telling them what a tomboy she was when she was a girl. How she would climb trees, play football and basketball with the boys and roller skate everywhere. My kids thoroughly enjoyed it even if they found it hard to believe that “Grandma” was such a tough cookie when she was younger. The perception we have of people is often not entirely correct. My mother is the picture of decorum and femininity, but I can attest to the fact that she has a tough side. When it comes to God, however, He is who He says He is…and that will never change. The same yesterday, today and tomorrow. What a peace that can bring to a troubled heart in the world of constant flux and change. Anchor your faith and life on the Fact that God remains constant in His love, faithfulness and holiness.
