Re-enrollment time is underway!  This year, in lieu having on-campus meetings to make the re-enrollment process as convenient as possible for our Current VCS Families, re-enrollment forms were sent home Thursday, February 5If you did not receive or if you misplaced your re-enrollment packet, please see Mrs. Keller, Mrs. Frazier or Mrs. James.  We have several very exciting changes for the fall of 2015 that has been outlined in your re-enrollment packet.  Many of our new families come to VCS because of our current families.  To say “Thank You” for presenting our school to new families, if your name is written on the enrollment form of a new family as the person who recommended them to the school, you will receive a $200 discount on your tuition ($100 in December and $100 in May).  The family must remain enrolled for the semester in which the $100 is given.

World’s Finest Chocolate Winners

Please take note that we still have several cases of World’s Finest Chocolate left over for sale.  If you would like to buy a half case for $15 or a full case for $30 you can sell them for at $1.00 per bar and keep all the profit!  Please see Mrs. Frazier in Building “B” if you are interested.

Junior Class Chick-fil-A Breakfast

The Junior Class will make “Chick-fil-A” biscuits available at the “B” Building concession stand for the remainder of the semester from 7:30am-8:00am on Wednesdays.

War of the Special Forces

VCS will once again host the “War of the Special Forces” during the week of April 13-17.  This is an invigorating, Christ-honoring team building event.  (Much like the WILDS.)  This week-long event is for our students in grades 7-12.  Please watch the video below for a sneak peak at what your children are going to experience.

War of the Special Forces Dress Code

Please note that each afternoon the girls in grades 7-12 will change into “activity dress-code” for the outdoor actives.  They will be allowed to leave campus in activity dress-code on those days.  This is not a change to our normal dress code, but rather a practical response to the week’s events.

Housing for the War of the Special Forces Sponsors

Next week our students in grades 7-12 will encounter a special spiritual emphasis week called the “War of the Special Forces.”  This team building, teen-focused time has proven to be impactful to our student body.  In preparation for this week, we are looking for a family to host two young ladies that are part of the team of the “war of the Special Forces” for the dates of April 11-18.  If you would consider hosting, please let me know by calling or emailing as soon as you have a moment!  Thanks!

Summer Missions Trips

We have a record number of students traveling abroad this summer on Missions Trips.  If you are interested in financially supporting any of these dedicated young people, please give me a call.  Even if we cannot support with our money, we can support with our prayers.  Pray for our VCS students as they seek to make an impact to a lost world this summer.

Summer Day Camp “Fun” Registration

Summer Day Camp registration packets are now available in all of the school offices.  If you cannot stop by the office to pick up a packet, please give us a call and we will send a packet home with your child.  Read the information carefully and take special note of the deadlines. Remember: 2015-2016 Enrollment is required to be eligible.

Summer Day Camp Craft Supplies

The summer day camp program is collecting coffee cans WITH lids, (plastic or metal), for a project they have planned this summer.  Please consider dropping off any empty cans you might have to “C” building so they can be recycled into a fun project.

Children’s Good News Spectacular

On Saturday, April 11 at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds, Child Evangelism Fellowship will host its annual Good News Spectacular.  This FREE event will run from 10am until 3pm.

Digital Sign Updates

Updates are made daily to the digital sign in front of “B” Building.

Shopping Helps VCS

Over the last 10 years VCS has received well in excess of $15,000 in gifts from “Shopper Loyalty Programs.”  Every little bit counts!  Thank you for thinking of VCS when you purchase your milk, bread and eggs!

Boxtops for Education and Campbell Soup Labels

Please keep in mind that VCS is still collecting “Box Tops for Education” and “Campbell’s” Soup labels. Just send them in with your students when you have them.  Over the years we have received 10’s of thousands of dollars to put back in to the ministry.  Thank you for your help!

Harris Teeter/Office Depot Helps VCS! /Target

Please link your Harris Teeter VIC Card to the Vandalia Christian School “Together in Education” code 2227. Harris Teeter contributes a percentage of all HT brand purchases to the Vandalia Christian School TIE account when your VIC card is linked to our school. Here are two easy ways to link your VIC card:  Visit your Harris Teeter store and ask your cashier to link your card to 2227. OR Visit  Community, Together in Education and link your card online.

Keep in mind as well that Office Depot offers contributions back to VCS if you let them know at the time of purchase that your children go to Vandalia.  Also, we are partnered with Target as well.  If you have not linked our school with Target you can easily do so at the customer service desk.

Word from My Heart

My cousin and his daughter are currently in the Ukraine on a medical mission’s trip.  It has been amazing to hear how the Lord is using their efforts to enhance the lives of the people there and to secure the future of their souls for heaven.  While praying for them I thought about a couple of things; helping people in their time of need is great….showing people the way to Heaven is everlasting.

When was the last time you reached out to someone in need and showed them what God has done in your life?  A hand up or a word of love may be the very vehicle it takes to bring another person to God’s grace.
