Re-enrollment time is underway! This year, in lieu of having on-campus meetings to make the re-enrollment process as convenient as possible for our Current VCS Families, re-enrollment forms were sent home in February. If you did not receive or if you misplaced your re-enrollment packet, please see Mrs. Keller, Mrs. Frazier or Mrs. James. We have several very exciting changes for the fall of 2015 that have been outlined in your re-enrollment packet.
Many of our new families come to VCS because of our current families. To say “Thank You” for presenting our school to new families, if your name is written on the enrollment form of a new family as the person who recommended them to the school, you will receive a $200 discount on your tuition ($100 in December and $100 in May). New families must remain enrolled for the semester in which the $100 is given.
Last Week for Library Check-Out
As hard as it is to believe, the school year is quickly coming to an end!
All Library books are due back no later than May 8. This will give us two weeks to have overdue books “come back home.”
Library time will be held May 4-8, however, we will not check out books. Library time will still be available for “fun-time” activities.
Mrs. Young will be teaching a one week “crash course” in beginning guitar for elementary and high school students this summer. Students must provide their own acoustic guitar, (no electrics, please!) We will be learning notes, melody playing, chords and strumming patterns. The elementary class is for rising 2nd – 7th graders and the cost is $50. The times are June 1-5 from 12:30-1:00pm. Students enrolled in the VCS Music Camp will receive a $10 discount. The high school class is for rising 8th-12th graders and the cost is $60. This class meets from 1:15-2:00 June 1-5. (This cost includes books and materials.) All classes will meet in the band room. Please email Mrs. Young at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details or pick a registration form outside of the band room.
Music Missions to Mars…OR…To Infinity and Beyond!
Join us this summer for MUSIC CAMP June 1-5 from 9-12noon. The cost is $75 and includes snacks, a T-shirt and music materials. Brochures are available from Mrs. Ellis and Mrs. Young.
7th – 12th Grade 2nd Semester Exams
Please take note that the 7th – 12th grade 2nd Semester final exams will begin on Wednesday, May 20 and go through Friday, May 22. The Exam schedule was recently emailed home. Hard copies are available in each of the offices and the schedule is posted on our website.
Athletic Awards Program
On May 15, the VCS Athletic Department will host its Annual Athletic Awards Dinner. Tickets for this event are now on sale at Mrs. Frazier’s office in “B” Building. The cost per ticket is $9.50. This event is open to students in grades 7-12 and their parents only. Young men are asked to wear dress slacks, dress shirts and ties and dress shoes. Young ladies are asked to wear “Sunday” dresses. No “formals,” please. School modesty dress code is required. The last day to purchase tickets is Friday, May 8.
Summer Day Camp “Fun” Registration
Summer Day Camp registration packets are now available in all of the school offices. If you cannot stop by the office to pick up a packet, please give us a call and we will send a packet home
with your child. Read the information carefully and take special note of the deadlines. Remember:
2015-2016 Enrollment is required to be eligible.
Thank You! K5-6th Grade Field Day
A big “THANK YOU” to all the volunteers, student council members, elementary teachers and Mrs. James for all of their help making “VCS Field Day” a great success. Despite the weather, the students had a blast and everything ran smoothly. Thank You, Mrs. Rhonda McDowell.
NCEMPT Math Test
The results for the 10th and 11th grade math students taking the North Carolina Early Mathematics Placement Test have been received. Those results will be sent home today.
Junior Class Chick-fil-A Breakfast
The Junior Class will make “Chick-fil-A” biscuits available at the “B” Building concession stand for the remainder of the semester from 7:30am-8:00am on Wednesdays.

Boxtops for Education and Campbell Soup Labels
Please keep in mind that VCS is still collecting “Box Tops for Education” and “Campbell’s” Soup labels. Just send them in with your students when you have them. Over the years we have received 10’s of thousands of dollars to put back in to the ministry. Thank you for your help!
Harris Teeter/Office Depot Helps VCS! /Target
Please link your Harris Teeter VIC Card to the Vandalia Christian School “Together in Education” code 2227. Harris Teeter contributes a percentage of all HT brand purchases to the Vandalia Christian School TIE account when your VIC card is linked to our school. Here are two easy ways to link your VIC card: Visit your Harris Teeter store and ask your cashier to link your card to 2227. OR Visit www.HarrisTeeter.com Community, Together in Education and link your card online.
Keep in mind as well that Office Depot offers contributions back to VCS if you let them know at the time of purchase that your children go to Vandalia. Also, we are partnered with Target as well. If you have not linked our school with Target you can easily do so at the customer service desk.
Word from My Heart
As you finish your week consider this thought, “Take us Lord, oh, take us truly, mind and soul and heart and will; Empty us and cleanse us thoroughly, then with all Thy fullness fill.” ~ Frances Havergal
