PSAT Testing

The annual PSAT Test will be given to all 10th and 11th Graders on October 15.  The cost for this required test is $15.  You may give this fee to your child’s homeroom teacher or one of the school offices prior to the testing date or on the day of test.  Please make your checks payable to VCS.  Thank you!

Business Parent Listing

“Best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.”  Last semester it was our intent to provide to our school parents a listing of VCS Parent Business.  That did not happen, however, it will happen this semester!  If you have a home-based or personal business you would like for me to share with our VCS Family, please email me the following information and I will compile this information and pass it on to our school family:  Business Name, Contact information, (phone and email), brief description of the service provided and any other pertinent information that you think might be helpful.  Please send this information to me by Friday, October 10 to be included in this year’s directory.

Word from My Heart

Last week our VCS faculty was privileged to attend a teacher’s convention in Myrtle Beach.  (I know….suffering for Jesus.)  But in all actuality it was work, but very refreshing.  We had several “Super Sessions” where we got energized from the Word, we had many sessions taught by co-laborers in Christian Education from around the nation that energized our work, and we had the opportunity to talk to fellow teachers that we only see in this type of setting once a year that lifted our spirits.

This conference reminded me that sometimes we just need to get away.  It is not that we don’t miss our students and school family, but sometimes we just need to reflect on how blessed we are.  When was the last time you stopped, looked around and thought, “God is so good to me.  I am in His hand of perfect care and protection.”  Notice I did not say ease, but rather perfect care.  Take a moment today to reflect on what God has done for you.
