Are you a business owner? Do you work for a local business? The yearbook staff members are selling business sponsorship opportunities for $50. This includes a special place in the VCS Yearbook. Keep in mind, however, that nearly 600 yearbooks will be sent home in May with our student body. This is a very cost effective advertising venue! These funds will be used to pay for a special cover design on this year’s yearbook. If you have questions or if the order form did not make it home, please email the yearbook adviser at Courtney.email@example.com

If you are interested in purchasing a very nice console Kimball piano, please contact the school office and ask for Mrs. Frazier for more details. This would be a great investment for students learning to play the piano.
Each week we have 5 chapel services for our students. They are divided according to grade levels. You are invited to attend any and all of these special services. Please call one of the school offices for the chapel schedule!

Helping Us Help Your Children
Please consider turning in your BoxTops-for-Education tabs from General Mills products and Labels-for-Education from Campbell’s Soup products to your child’s teacher. Also remember to re-link your Harris-Teeter VIC card the next time you shop so we can benefit from their Together In Education program. Just mention VCS and our school code, 2227 the next time you use your VIC card. If you have friends and family that are not already donating to other schools through the VIC card program, suggest they link their card to our school. Food Lion’s MVP card is also linked to our school. Mention us the next time you shop with them. Target also makes donations. Just mention linking your Target account to VCS. By the way, Aluminum can pop tops from soda cans, canned goods, etc., can be used help provide 1 FREE hour of chemotherapy treatment. Please give those “pop-top” tops placed in zip top baggies to Mrs. Herriage.

Vandalia Baptist Church is sponsoring the AWANA youth outreach program on Wednesday nights. The AWANA program is a Christ-centered boys and girls club where they learn Bible truths, memorize Bible verses, play fun games and learn how to work together as a team. If your child does not already participate in a youth program at your home church, please consider this program.
Keep in mind that Vandalia Baptist Church has a mid-week prayer meeting from 7:30-8:30 during the same time AWANA is going on. Please feel welcomed to join us!
Word from My Heart
Veteran’s Day. Over the last few years this day has meant more to me than ever. My father was a Navy veteran, but when my son joined the Marines it REALLY brought it home. I pray for him daily and for the rest of the men and women that have done their duty and for those that are at this moment fighting, training and protecting. Thank you, to our devoted family and friends in the US Military.
