VCS PTF Christmas Bonus Program

Merry ChristmasA GIFT OF ONLY $30.00 is what we recommend to provide a Christmas bonus of a little over $200.00 for your child’s teacher.  This is a nice reward for all their hard work.  You can make this possible!  Return your contribution for the “VCS CHRISTMAS BONUS” program by Friday, December 19th to show your appreciation for our teachers and help us reach our goal of $13,000.  That’s a recommended average gift of only $30.00 per VCS Family!  Send your donation to the school office in the envelope we provided your child and watch the totals rise on the thermometers posted on the “Digital Bulletin Boards.”  Thank you again for your help and continued support for the ministry of Vandalia Christian School.

Attractions Coupon Books

Just a reminder that we still have several Attractions Dining and Value Guides in the office.  They make great Christmas Gifts. Please see Mrs. Frazier if you are interested.

Christmas Concerts

The Band Department did an amazing job last evening!  I hope you were able to attend.  Please take note of the upcoming Christmas Concerts and make your plans to attend. Information was sent home concerning what your children are asked to wear for the concerts.  If you have any questions about attire or arrival times, please give us a call.

Parent’s Night Out!

The Varsity Cheerleaders and the Yearbook Staff will host a Frozen Movie Night on December 20 from 5:00pm-9:00pm for three-year-olds, (must me potty trained), through 6th graders.  The early Registration will be extended through December 17.  A pizza dinner and games are included in the cost.  If you register by December 17 the cost will be $25 for one child, $30 for two children, $40 for three children, $45 for four or more. If you register after December 17 the cost is $30 for one child, $35 for two, $40 for three and $45 for four or more.  This is a great time to get that Christmas shopping done and give your children a safe fun place to hang out for a few hours.  Please call if you have any questions.

VCS Vikings Sports

Viking-bb-LogoBasketball season is underway! Check out the digital board in front of the gym for upcoming games.  There is also a listing of the season’s games on our website.  Contact your child’s coach if you have any questions about travel times.  Directions to “Away” games are posted on our website.

VCS Is Going NUTS!

Morning Parking

Just a gentle reminder that when you drop-off your preschoolers in front of “A” building, please make sure that you park in a parking space if you desire to walk your child to the classroom.  It is very important that you do not park in the “No Parking” zone.

Five BelowOnce again VCS will partner with “Five-Below” at 4217 Wendover Avenue in Greensboro for a unique way to purchase some great products and help our school at the same time. VCS receives 10% of the proceeds spent from December 8-14.  You must present the flyer at “checkout” that was sent home last week for VCS to receive credit for your purchases.  Thank you!

Food Drive

The Student Council is extending the “Thanksgiving” Food Drive through Christmas.  Please consider donating any non-perishable food items between now and dismissal for the Christmas Celebration on December 22.  You may drop any of your donated items off to any of the school offices.

The senior class is selling Chick-fil-A Calendars for 2015 to help offset the cost of their senior trip.  These high value calendars are available for purchase through any of the offices at $7 each, which is less than you, can buy them for at Chick-fil-A restaurants.  They make great Christmas gifts. Each calendar includes a 2105 Calendar Card that can be used to receive the free item offered each month. This sale ends on December 22!

Daycare Information

Please note that there will be no daycare provided on December 26.  Daycare will be available on Friday, January 2 for students already enrolled.

A Christmas Carol

A Christmas CarolThe 12th grade English classes are producing a rendition of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol at 1:30pm on Wednesday, December 17, in the Gym for all 2nd-6th grade students and their parents.  This is going to be a fun event!  Please come if you can!

Prison Ministry Outreach

If you have any Bibles that you are no longer using and would like to give them to others less fortunate, consider donating them to a prison outreach ministry.  Give them to any of the school offices and we will ensure they are put in the hands of men and women in prison that are seeking.

Carpool Help

We have a family that lives in the Brown Summit area that is needing help with carpooling.  If you live in that area and could possibly help, please contact Mrs. James.

Word from My Heart

Last week my family and I went on vacation.  That is very rare for me to take a week off during the school year, but it worked out best for us considering everyone’s schedule.  When I returned on Monday I was greeted with 297 emails and several voicemails.  Needless to say, it was overwhelming! I am glad to say that I am currently “caught up!”

While I was trudging through the emails and voicemails it occurred to me that, thankfully, our God is ever present and never puts our needs in the queue.  The very moment we come to Him with a need or request He is ready to take us into His loving arms.  The Bible tells us time and time again that we are welcome to “enter into His presence” at any moment.  Whenever you find yourself in a place of distress, just call on God….He is always available.
