Please note that we will excuse any days absent on those days as long as your child in grades PreK – 6 brings in a note or students in grades 7-12 gets an “Advanced Approval” slip by Wednesday morning, April 1, from Mrs. Keller or Mrs. James. All missed tests, quizzes and homework will be required to be completed.
Re-enrollment time is underway! This year, in lieu having on-campus meetings to make the re-enrollment process as convenient as possible for our Current VCS Family, re-enrollment forms were sent home Thursday, February 5. If you did not receive or misplaced your re-enrollment packet, please see Mrs. Keller, Mrs. Frasier or Mrs. James. We have several very exciting changes for the fall of 2015 that has been outlined in your re-enrollment packet. Many of our new families come to VCS because of our current families. To say “Thank You” for presenting our school to new families, if your name is written on the enrollment form of a new family as the person who recommended them to the school, you will receive a $200 discount on your tuition ($100 in December and $100 in May). The family must remain enrolled for the semester in which the $100 is given.

There is a $10 cost which includes the conference sessions and lunch.
TOYS & Co.
The folks at TOYS & Co. enjoy giving back to the community that is so generous to them throughout the year. One way that they give back is through their “School Week.” Now through March 14, anyone who shops at the Friendly Center Store is encouraged to let the cashier know they are affiliated with VCS and TOYS & Co. will donate 20% of those sales straight back to VCS.

War of the Special Forces
VCS will once again host the “War of the Special Forces” during the week of April 13-17. This is an invigorating, Christ-honoring team building event. (Much like the WILDS.) This week long event is for our students in grades 7-12. Please watch the video below for a sneak peak at what your children are going to experience.
VCS Alumni Game FRIDAY, MARCH 13!
We hope to see a great turnout this Friday, March 13 for the VCS Will Zimmerman Alumni Game at 7:00pm in the VCS Gym. This game and Halftime Drawing and Auction will directly benefit the Zimmerman family to help off-set the costs that have been incurred during Will’s leukemia treatments. Will is a 2014 graduate from VCS that has been battling leukemia for several years. This evening is designed to encourage and celebrate Will’s strength and courage. Plan to attend if you can! Admission is $5.00 per person or $15 for families of 4 or more. Children 6 and under are admitted free!
Summer Daycare Craft Supplies
The summer daycare program is collecting coffee cans WITH lids, (plastic or metal), for a project they have planned this summer. Please consider dropping off any empty cans you might have to “C” building so they can be recycled into a fun project.
Children Around the World
For the last several years the elementary school of VCS has sponsored a “Children Around the World” festival. The event helps to teach the children to develop a love for missionaries and others around the world, encourages them to pray for the missionaries of their chosen country, correspond with a missionary family via letters, email and skype and learn about the culture, food and customs of other countries. The festival will be held on Wednesday, April 1. More information will be sent home by their teachers. But make your plans now to visit our “Global Community” in the VCS Gym on April 1!
Digital Sign Updates
Updates are made daily to the digital sign in front of “B” Building. Keep an “eye out!”
Shopping Helps VCS
Over the last 10 years VCS has received well in excess of $15,000 in gifts from “Shopper Loyalty Programs.” Every little bit counts! Thank you for thinking of VCS when you purchase your milk, bread and eggs!
Boxtops for Education and Campbell Soup Labels
Please keep in mind that VCS is still collecting “Box Tops for Education” and “Campbell’s” Soup labels. Just send them in with your students when you have them. Over the years we have received 10’s of thousands of dollars to put back in to the ministry. Thank you for your help!

Word from My Heart
As I have mentioned over the years we have pets in our home. Currently I have two cats and one dog. To be honest, most of the time this not a problem. Nonetheless, over the last several weeks, this HAS become a problem. I’m not sure if the pets are getting older or if I am getting older; but having to get up at 3:30am each morning to take care of “potty duty” is getting old.
As trivial as that sounds, and some of you can commiserate, I reflected on the fact that no matter what time of day that I need to go to God in prayer, He is always there. Never stop considering God’s love and grace. As a believer in the gift of salvation we are given, call upon Jesus at any time.
